LNG Commercial Aspects

About This Course

The course provides a general overview of how the overall LNG value chain operates from upstream gas production, through liquefaction, shipping to re-gasification and sales to the final end-users. A special focus is put on the fundamentals of the LNG industry from the commercial standpoint. The course will help learners identify the fundamental drivers and risks when structuring a commercial deal in an LNG project and will address critical risks in contracts along the chain. An analysis of the following elements will be provided: LNG sales and purchase agreements (SPAs), transportation agreements, regasification agreements, and financial structuring with emphasis on financial agreements and risk mitigation.

Mauricio has more than 20 years of experience and has been recently a technical advisor devising feedstock and raw materials purchasing strategies for North American petrochemical players, and has advised in four different international projects involving evaluating the global natural gas/LNG value chain from source to final consumer for utilization in the oil refining, power generation, industrial, and transportation sectors in North and Latin America.
